Objective
Determine the identity of an unknown wine the player is consuming from a list of 10 wines. Players accomplish this objective by using the senses of sight, smell and taste along with a series of clues regarding the wine’s identity. Another objective is to gain a greater appreciation and knowledge of wine.
Game Play
In each round of the 10-round challenge players are given a new clue and asked to make their best guess regarding the identity of the wine. For the first 5 rounds, clues relate to the color, aroma/nose, texture, flavors and finish of the wine. During the final 5 rounds, clues are based on the history, geography, facts and opinions regarding the grapes and winery.
Game Options
Each option is explained in the Rules and Players Guide included in each Starter Edition.
- Basic Version – 2 or more individuals compete for themselves
- Team Play – Teams of 2 or more people compete
- Solitaire – 1 person playing solo to improve his/her wine knowledge and tasting skills
- Head-To-Head Challenge – 2 players or teams each supply a bottle of wine that the opposing player(s) must identify
- Multiple Wines – Individuals or teams attempt to identify 2 or more wines during the game
- Multiple Wines Bring Your Own Bottle – Individuals or teams each supply 1 bottle of wine that the other competitors attempt to identify
